Just wondering what thwe value may be on a Swedish Krag (spelling?) 1906, most numbers matching? My father in law has one and is curious. This is a 6.5 x 55. The rifle is in good condition for its age.

Thanks for the replies.

Actually, if it is a Krag, and in 6.5 x 55 then it is Norwegian. More info required for pricing. Pics would be very helpful. Is it a carbine or a rifle? Has it been sporterized?

I had a 6.5x55 Norwegian Krag not long ago. I had three or four offers at once on it at about $600 and it was not special, just a sporterized old milsurp. It worked fine of course.

Thanks for the info guys,

I will try to post some pics by the weekend, I am sure it will help in the description.

Here are some pics of the 6.5 x 55. Any comments on its value would be appreciated.

Hello PEGUY.... :)

I'd have to go and wade through my Krag research books to be sure, but in my opinion, it's a "sporterized" Norwegian Krag rifle or carbine .....

There's nothing forward of the sight except barrel. I believe there should at least be a barrel band, as even the carbines had those.

If it is that, then I think it's probably a $400 piece.....

$600 for a Krag sporter!!!!????

I paid $125 for mine and have passed on several at $150-200. Must be a regional thing.

Have to agree. A chopped Krag is virtually impossible to restore due to lack of replacement wood. I'd not go more than $200 for even the nicest one, personally.

This was my thought too. Although I paid $140 for my 1912 carbine but it came with two boxes of ammo. And like Claven says, finding replacement wood is as difficult as finding a stock set for a M94 Swede. Kind of a shame really, all the metal matches and it hasn't been drilled and tapped, just whittled.

bout the same price hear in maritimes 100 or more on average, fer a sportered krag,
as to full wood / military stock sets.........i saw 1 on ebay. went fer 300++ or so hundred bucks usa. ( cant recall if fer a 30-40 krag or a norwegian but either way is pricy!!
