sweet bow kill

That is a fugly bear. I have to wonder about the shot placement though. A frontal shot like that is a very iffy angle to be shooting at. One might assume this bear did die of the arrow but it would not surprise me if a second ( read back up rifle) was required. Videos have a tendency to edit out those little details. A broadside shot would be preferable. Personally I would not of taken that shot but if she did make a clean kill good for her. Just don't try that too many times.

Frame by frame that shot and you'll see the torrent of blood coming from the entry wound. wow.

Funny how the "ethics police" are always the first on scene...

Nine, thnx for the pic. and yes, everyone frame by frame from 2:06-2:08

I tried a call this fall without success but I can appreciate her being winded from blowing that call. I had seen this video before and had a pretty good idea of the difficulty. Perhaps the trick is to call hungry bears in the spring. The warning with my call suggested having backup.

Can that chick ever blow that call! Nice shot for sure, just too bad she had to talk and ruin the whole thing ;)

my thought EXACTLY well and the fact she wacked a rubbed bear Laugh2

as for shot , it was a great shot, not ideal but a great shot

dont let them get to you, some people are just pissy because they lack that particular skill that others have and maybe the bear didnt die from the shot placement but rather humiliation of being shot with a pink bow and pink arrows ;) lol

Great calling, and a good (if slightly lucky on hitting the artery) shot.

I'm guessing the cameraman had the backup protection ... no way I'd be using that kind of call on a bear that agressive without some sort of backup. Would still be a very adrenaline filled moment though, hoping that A: You make the shot or B: Your backup does their job.

Was the kill sort of staged? She didnt see to concerned about a follow up shot after she made the first one. Also they way she just wandered over and sat beside it without at least poking it first.. I dunno, some of makes the whole thing seem like staged BS.

I'm never too concerned with making a secondary shot with my bow. I fully intend on killing with my first shot and if my first shot would ever fail there is almost never a chance to go for a second one. There is also a chance that she had someone with a gun behind her.

As for her not poking it. They usually make sure the animal is dead before they continue recording. It doesn't look good on tv if your hunter doesn't get the animal with the first shot.
