SWFA SS Classic scope

up date. ordered on Aug 12th - arrived on Aug 15th from Texas. shipping was very steep SWFA only shipped UPS express air, shipped Friday arrived Monday cleared customs that is fast for an ITAR item.

Overall this is my first SWFA SS 16x scope. I'm a Leupold guy first, I haven't compared the glass yet to my normal VXII scopes I use. but I'm liking this scope so far, Reticle is nice I got a Mil-Quad with Mils/Mils turret.
The scope is very beefy and 30mm tube. I'm just worried about being under power for my planned use and might end up getting a 20x scope. so far I'm impressed accept for the price $620 landed That's exchange, very steep shipping, duty/taxes.

I'd be interested in the breakdown on this. A $USD 249.99 scope costing $620 delivered is a big jump. Surely it can be delivered for less than that.

=$CDN 325.10 + 13% HST = $CDN 367.36

$620 - 367.36 = $252.64 in shipping, brokerage, duty...its the same as the value of the scope.

Could they not ship it USPS?
 
they said Nope & (FRAUD ALERT) only. by the way I also bought a sunshade & scope level. my breakdown was $70usd for shipping & brokerage fees.

only the SWFA SS 20x42 Tactical 30mm Riflescope is $249.99 All the rest are $299.99 & up

So you would be looking at $249.99usd + $70usd shipping total = 319.99 x 1.31% exchange = $419.19cdn this is 4 days air UPS shipping + brokerage fees was $14.cdn & your 13% HST = $489.50 give or take.

if you buy a $299.99 scope it's going to be more.
 
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Really wish I'd known a month ago, but that is life. Really wish their website handled Canadian orders ... phone is ... hit-and-miss.

It does mean that I'll be looking at their upcoming sales, as there is always two sales a year on SS gear.

the biggest problem I have with SWFA is the shipping cost of $70usd
 
Well brought back from the DEAD! :slav:

I was watching Black Friday sales and found SWFA held over there cyber Monday sale for another day do to phone troubles.

So I sent off an email to buy a new SWFA SS 12x on sale & comes with free rings & level & half off a sun shade. So when in Rome buy it... LOL
 
i have a 6x and a 10x. havnt got the 6x out to the range yet, but the 10x is more then enough to make consistent hits at 1000m. I LOVE that scope!!! cant wait to use my 6x for hunting at 100-500m
