I am currently holding a SWFA Super sniper scope( Fixed power). I see it is japanese and made by TASCO. Does anyone have any first hand experience with these ? It seems very clear when looking through it but I was wondering how they hold up on a heavy recoil rifle and do they keep their zero ?

how long have you had the scope??, there are a few fake super snipers being sold on ebay, you get it from swfa, if so lucky guy ,the us militery use them on the 50 cals they are made for heavy recoil, besides original supersnipers have a lifetime no hastle warranty,,,,

Many reviews on the net opine that it is comparible to a leupold scope in quality and they also have tested them for recoil with .50bmg and .338 lapua calibres and all have excelled.
I have a SS10X and love it. The optics are top notch (especially for the price range) and the turrets are nearly indestructible (it was designed for the military)

Out of curiosity.....does it actually have the word TASCO on the side??? I have only ever seen one. These are supposedly the Original $1000.00 scopes that were design for the military contract. When SWFA took over, the TASCO name was removed. The Japan letters.....I'm told.... Refer to the glass that's in them. Excellent quality. There are some japanese lenses in even the best Leupold scopes. Names like Hakko and Kenko are associated with excellent glass.
I wouldn't trade my 10x for anything. It serves it's purpose too well. I have nothing but great things to say about them. If its a good price ...I say jump on it.

Hakko actually built them for Tasco, but yeah, the very early ones said Tasco on them. I have a 10x like that, but it needs repairs, and getting them done is difficult, at best. - dan
I Love my 10x SS, other than the goofy name! It is on my bolt-action .50 for now, and is doing just fine.
I will buy a 16X or higher for competition, and put the 10x on another rifle. I will also buy one or two just to keep for future use! My kids will need rifles in a couple of years.

Yup, I'm here and I've got one for my wife's StealthII in .308 , it's a 16X by the way. She loves it and I never ever have to worry about any repair or warranty problems since it's bombproof and milspec...
Try finding a milspec scope for under $ 500 Cdn... Sure beats spending all kinds of money on a US Optics or NightForce scope when you've got a kid in University. LOL

SWFA SuperSniper 20X
If I remember well, FromFarAway had one of these SWFA SuperSniper 20X scope to sell on his Tikka Target .308, along with a Pelican Case and Harris bipod.
I think the last he asked for was $1800.00 for the whole package.
He's gone in BC now.

The 10X one I bought from Gunboy has the word "Tasco" in white on the side of the objective bell. It was NIB and is superb, looks great on my 700PS.
