I use A-Frames in my 7.08 (140 grain) and 30.06 (180 grain).
They are a little more stout than a Nosler Partition although built kinda/sorta/almost the same.
They do "effectively" expand with significantly less impact velocity than the mono's (Barnes TSX,TTSX, Nosler E-Tips or Hornady GMX) which should probably be reserved for magnum velocities (the mono's that is).
Swift advertises a minimum impact velocity of 1700 fps to expand. In actual use I have (personally) found that if you can impact in the 2300-2400 fps range you will get expansion of (at least) twice the caliber and retain greater than 95% of the original weight (unless you really smack bone).
I have been shooting A-Frames since the year after they came out. They are my "go to" moose bullet. I would NOT use them for deer or black bears or any other thin skinned game - these are for "tough" skinned animals. On a whitetail unless you plan on shoulder shots (I) consider this "way too much bullet", and since they cost about 75 cents a piece (just for the bullet), best used sparingly.
