Ok heres some more pics I hope. The swift was designed to train students in holding aiming and firing the service Rifle. The butt is spring loaded forcing the student to pull the rifle into there shoulder,The rifle would be held in a bracket via the hook on the bottom close to a paper target. When fired a harpoon like device pops out and jabs the wife uh paper where the student is aiming. At the bottom of the harpoon a spade like device would also cut a vertical line so the instructor could check the cant on the rifle. If the butt spring saftey wasnt desired a pin was inserted into the hole in the butt to hold it in.Mine was missing so I made one as close to the pics as possible.Hope this helps,If you want any more pics send me your email, ask any questions ill try to answer Dave http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac74/wanderingzero/DSCF2808.jpg Dave http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac74/wanderingzero/DSCF2809.jpg http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac74/wanderingzero/DSCF2811.jpg http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac74/wanderingzero/DSCF2804.jpg http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac74/wanderingzero/DSCF2807.jpg http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac74/wanderingzero/DSCF2803.jpg

wow that is cool. I had no idea they were that complex, I just thought they were an odd looking wooden dummy rifle. not as high tec as todays video laser and compressed air trainers with a load of pressure sensors obviously, but it sounds like it effectively does the exact same thing. plus you didn't have that damned air hose right where you want to put your hand, plus you could jab stuff. Must try to get myself one of those now.
