Swiss 5.56?

This is the Swiss GP-90 wanna be stuff that I got from TSE and is oh so accurate I don't even shoot it :D

LOL!! I'm thinking the same now since everything is zeroed for it :p

That's the issued stuff, just with a different label on the box.
10 rd plastic clips in 50 rd boxes, packed in 1'000 ammo can.
We don't use the 250 packs.

This stuff is .223 tho... :(

If you are concerned about the issue of using 5.56mm military ammo in a .223 Rem rifle, then the M193 is definately 5.56mm military spec. The GP90 is Swiss military spec, so it confuses the issue a little. I would suggest that GP90 is closer to 5.56mm spec than .223 Rem spec. HTH

Wondering what is the difference between GP90 and SS109 apart from the fact that SS109 ammo has a steel core, is that the only difference?

Seems that RUAG make everykind of 5.56mm ammo, M193, SS109 and GP90 of course!

Here's the stupid question of the day...

Received a case of GP90, and was wondering what's the easy way to get these rounds off of the strips? One at a time is painfully slow, and even slower when I drop a couple in the snow while wiggling them off.

I could pick them all off some night while watching TV and drop them loose into a can I suppose. Not as nice as having 10 at a time at hand to reload the mag, but definitely easier than fumbling with them.

AFAIK the plastic strippers used on the Swiss ammo for the SIG series of magazines can not be used with a guide and loaded into USGI AR magazines.

Not a problem for me, I've only shot 20 rounds of the 200 that I bought. The rest are sitting in my closet :)
