Swiss Arms/ Aimpoint CompM4s

It is an H1 not a T1, I didn't need NV compatability.

Bought it from an Aimpoint dealer here in Vancouver. Seems to be legit. Registered it with Aimpoint for warranty.

I like having co-witness on the CQB. It works well for me. The red dot fits perfectly into the white dot of the front post.

Super fast target acquisition :) I focus on the red dot on the front post.

On my SAN Classic Green I use an ACOG chevron reticle and don't bother to co-witness.

Cowitnessing is not a sighting technique, its just the way a gun is setup. Reason for it being it allows easy verification of zero retention and immediate use of irons if optic were to fail.

You should not be using your Aimpoint dot in conjunction with the irons...

The H1 pictured is likely an early model as the later models have the subdued logo and finish identical to the T1s. Same internals.

Sure. Makes sense. I agree, it is not a sighting technique. I was only describing how it works in actuality.

Why do you say that? :) I am curious. Will it slow me down?

I actually didn't care about co-witnessing when I bought it but it worked out.

I would be worried about cheek weld if I raised the dot well above the irons, maybe I should remove the irons? Doesn't matter to me, and I am open minded about things.

This H1's manual says 2008, probably a year old when I bought it from Daves Surplus last month I guess. They said they had got them in recently.

Hrmph :)

You can leave the irons as is. Aligning the dot and the front sight is an unnecessary step. The advantage of the Aimpoint over iron is you do not need to align front, rear, target. Just put the dot on the target. So yes, it is slowing you down.

Ah, I see what you mean. I just aim the red dot on target. I don't try to do align the sights. It just happens to line up perfectly and co-witness.

Thanks Big Red. Appreciate the time.

If you lining the dot up with irons, yes you are wasting time.

Dont focus on the dot either. Focus on what you are shooting, and just put the dot where you want the bullet to go.

And make sure you shoot with both eyes open.

9 times out 10 when someone complains about a cluttered sight picture, it's because they are shooting through the irons with one eye.

Utilize your bi-ocular vision. You'd be surprised how quick you can get when using a red dot correctly

Appreciate the ideas, the first sentence should help me a lot. I just got the CQB last month with the Aimpoint.

Very used to the ACOG so already am well conditioned to both eyes open, but your tip is already giving me room for improvement :) Looking forward to the range tomorrow.

I like the the T1 best on the Swiss carbine or CQB and no charging handle issues with it or the Larue mount.

Wow I love that. Looks amazing. If it was non-restricted I'd sell everything I have to get it

I believe its called BAC. The Bindon Aiming Concept ,heads up both eyes open.

I took a pic of the hole in my Larue mount for the diopter sight, not a great pic but best I could get with my camera.
