Swiss Arms-AR Magazine Adapter

I installed mine yesterday evening, with both the front and read adaptors, and modified one pmag as a test.

Everything slotted into place easily and feels nice and snug, and the magazine filing guide was a great touch, made filing the notch a simple 5 minute job with a small jewelers file.

Mag has a slight bit of front to back wobble to ir but stays firmly seated, feeds rounds perfectly, and bolt hold open/ release all work perfectly.

Overall I am impressed with the little 3d printed part. Not sure if there would be any way to stabilize the magazine a bit more, but my initial impressions are very good.

I look forward to live firing the gun and seeing how it runs with the adaptor in place.

Thanks for making this part GS!

I think this is VERY reasonable for $55. Any other AR mag conversion for the Swiss is $150.
I'd like to thank GSD for bringing this to market, and I hope a Famae 540 version will be available next!:)

another one for famae 540 version please and thanks, would be nice if it worked with metal/aluminum mags

Is this with the rear piece installed, or without?

Should have one for the 540 ready by mid to late June. It does work with metal mags, they're just not really recommended because they may scuff the paint on the inside of your magwell.

Are the magazines that get notched still usable in other stanag based rifles?

Yes, the notch doesn't affect compatibility.

Rear piece is installed.

That amount of wiggle seems consistent with what I've seen with gen 3 PMAGs. They're actually about 0.5mm shorter front to back than most other magazines so they fit a little more loosely.

There was a certain amount of trade-off to account for this when I made the stabilizer. If it was any larger, other mags wouldn't fit at all. As it stands now, most mags should be quite tight with the stabilizer and Gen 3 PMAGs should have a slight wiggle. All should function properly even without it though.

Got a chance to put the adaptor through some paces today, put about 100 rounds through the gun and the one mag I modified, can you say flawless?

Great product guys!

I'll buy that !!

Still waiting for permission from on high (ON CFO) to receive the FAMAE rifles. It'll probably be a few weeks still.

Also in other news, it looks like these work in the Swiss Stgw90. Hopefully I can get a customer to do a full auto test soon :)

I am in the market for a non restricted black rifle and have always wanted a Swiss arms, that being said I would prefer something that uses 10 round pistol mags. Now my question is if the magazines need to be modified for this adaptor would this make the magazine prohibited?

Yes, you'd be doing something illegal. You can modify a firearm but can't modify a 10-round magazine to fit a semi-auto rifle.

You just need to do a little bit of filing on the mag.
