Swiss Arms Black Special, or Black Target?

Then it ain't worth no $700 bucks...

R:d:

It really is too bad that it is not free floating. However, it does provide a solid base for bipods, a good attachment points for lights and lasers and other knick knacks, and yeah, it just looks good.

I am not sure how, or if, one could construct FF handguards for these rifles...

So why spend $700 on a rail, plus whatever on a bipod, when the gun comes with a bipod?

LOL

I know it looks badass, 110%! And if I had the money I probably would too, but why?!:stirthepot2::nest:

I am not a big fan of the factory bipod. Getting the Parker Hale bipods is extremely difficult. The B&T rail, coupled with the bipod adaptor, gives me what I need to mount my preferred bipod.

Spending $700 on a sweet piece of kit actually isn't that bad. Price out ceramic brakes on newer European cars and THAT will make you see double :D

have you found a scope yet? anything 2.5-10 or 3-9 will be great on this rifle. I recommend buying a regular ol hunting used leaupold vxlll in the EE very clear and usually under the $600 range you suggest (full warranty) and when you can put a NF 2.5-10x24 or 32 on it, that is that absolute perfect optic for the rifle, when you are ready you can sell the leupold for what you paid for it and it will serve you well in the mean time. s&B is coming out with 1-8 that would be outstanding but then again 3k, The leupold is NOT the best choice but to buy you time and plenty of shooting pleasure is the best way to spend your money as you won't lose a dime on it when it comes time to sell it.

Here is my target set up with glass. The Larue SPR-S sits low enough that you don't require the riser on the stock. Made a few mods to the bipod as well.

Edit to appeal to details:

SA Black Special Target
Leupold Mark 4 3.5-10x40 M1 FFP
Larue Tactical SPR-S low mount
Harris BRM-S with Podloc
Custom swivel stud adaptor using dremeled polymer with a glued in swivel stud. The adaptor fits into the rectangular hole behind the stock bipod and protrudes to allow for the swivel stud to protrude. I found this to work best as no permanent modifications to the hand guard were required.

I have the Target and IMO it's the only way to go if you want to scope it. But I recently bought the cheekpiece from CanadaAmmo and it's too high with my scope rings (mediums). So you kind of get stuck in No Man's Land with regard to cheek weld with the Target. If anyone has an idea to help me out I'm all ears. And no, don't tell me to get Extra High rings.
