Swiss Arms: Check twist rate? Reloading Data?

I'm looking to start reloading for my Swiss Arms but I have no idea if its 1 in 10 or 1 in 7. I bought it off EE and the original owner had no idea at the time of purchase.

After I figure this out, Ill probably look into doing some precision reloads, however, I have no idea where to start. It would be great if someone could share a few of their recipes so I can use it as a bench mark for load testing.

If I recall there is a PDF on 6mmbr.com from Sierra that gives an excellent starting point for reloading for the AR15. I just basically used that same approximate data and a chrony to work up my loads for the SL8, an AR and now a Tavor. Some other sites have free reloading data too.

What bullets do you want to use and what distance do you want to shoot them at?
It may make the question of twist rate moot.

If you have a comparable rifle barrel to compare it against (say an AR 7 twist), line them up together - the 7 twist is unmistakable.
You can confirm this with the barrel profile (have a look in the SA sticky re. Barrels close to the front of the post) and again with a cleaning rod.

While the rifling is NOT marked on the Canadian import (Black Special / Classic Green / Red Devil / Blue Star / Heavy Metal) - the easiest method of determining the rifling ratio is by inserting a cleaning rod in the barrel while noting the number of rotations as you push the rod down the barrel's length.

FYI - The Swiss domestic version (The PE90) has the following rifling designations marked on the left side of the Receiver and Trigger Casing (before the serial #).

55x – 1 (this designates a 1:10 rifling ratio)
55x – 2 (this designates a 1:7 rifling ratio)

1:10 is best for 40-63gr
1:7 is best for 55-80gr

The easiest way to tell twist rate is look inside the flash hider. 1/7 is threaded inside. 1/10 is smooth. Mine is a Black Special Target 1/7. It's favourite loads are 77gr SMK or Nosler Custom Competiton over 24gr of CFE 223 or 24gr of BLC2
 
Well, the serial number thing makes no sense with my rifle. It only takes 1/2 a second to check inside the tip of the flash hider. I'd run a patched rod through just for gags and confirm like Mugen said.
