Only the Classic Green rifles with barrel lengths of less than 18.5" are restricted, your "Non-restricted" rifle is still just that.

good to hear, I was worried maybe things had changed.
being non restricted and with no registry, how would they plan on rounding them all up? hopefully it doesn't happen, but I really cant see everyone just handing over their $3000 rifles to the rcmp to be destroyed. Seems the proper thing for them to do would be to leave it alone or at the very least create another prohibited class.
like everyone said the 18.5" still is non restricted, good luck finding one new thou, I'm not aware any dealer have them in stock new, if you found any dealer have them new, please let me know too also.about 7 years ago I sold my classic green, at the time it was non restricted. I recently have started looking for one again but have been told they are now restricted. When did they get reclassified?

I think I may play the Game and sell my AR, save some cash and pick up a Swiss. Might be a risk, but I think its worth it. The Swiss with the NEA Lower and a A2 Stock is one nice looking bit of kit.
You mean like this?

Honestly they're selling used on the EE right now for prices that a year ago would be nearly insulting to the owners. Look into the few that are floating around used and give them a good re-homing.
