Does the Swiss Arms classic green accept m16/ar15 magazines or does it use its own different magazine? I can't find an answer.

Thanks

The swiss arms rifles take a unique (expensive) proprietary magazine. NEA has an aluminum billet lower receiver that allows you to use AR15 pattern magazines, however they're a little bit expensive. 600-ish if i remember correctly. Hope that helps!

The Swiss Arms rifles use proprietary magazines. Canada Ammo brings in relatively cheap clones of these magazines, and they rival the genuine ones for function. I use the clone magazines and have never had a magazine related failure. (About 5000 rounds through my Classic Green)

The Canada Ammo clone magazines are around $40 each, which is about 1/3 the price of new Swiss made ones.

I second this, 3690 rounds to date out of one of my Swiss Rifles, all through the magazines from Canada ammo, there awesome.

make that 4000

The Swiss magazines are rated for 30,000 cycles each, which is about the life cycle of the barrel when used at full auto. You won't wear them out, you might lose them.

Who and where are the clones manufactured?

Not only for the range. I've used and abused mine a lot during the last two years and put thousands of rounds through them.

They've been dropped on concrete, rocks and other hard surfaces, used in the mountains in -10° C weather, in the summer when it was around 35° C, in the mud and rain and so on.

From my experience they're just as good as the original magazines.

A number of buddies use them, too and none of us has had a single problem with them.
Except one, that got a crack after dropping it on concrete once too often.
(it was loaded with 30 rds at the time and it was done on purpose)

P.S: before anyone gets nervous about an unpinned magazine: check my location.

Which of the three are you using in Switzerland? They sell the Solid black one that's essentially marketed as the cheapest, the dark one and the lighter one that look's OEM.
Its hard to believe you cant get a deal on Mags in your own country; that SUCKS!

We use all three if them. I can get a discount on the original, but the aftermarket-magd are still cheaper, except the 20 rd mags, which I can get from the army, those can be had for 26.- a piece

As mentioned earlier, you can get the nea lower receiver (which will allow you to use AR mags). Essentially, you'll end up with a Sig 556 (avialable in the US for about $1500) by spending $3k on a classic green and $600 on an NEA lower:(

Personally, I wish a dealer would find a way to bring in the 556 or even the 516.

There's a 516 for sale on GunAuction .ca

The 556 is prohib, and an inferior rifle anyway.

The word you are looking for is "jealous". You aren't a 13 year old black girl.
Wow really dude?
Seems a bit odd that someone would feel the need to make such a comment...

Anyway, I have no experience with Swiss Arms, but I do recall a thread on here a while back regarding the NEA lower. The guy who bought it posted pictures of it and for the price, the machining looked pretty bad. He sent it back and they sent him a new one. The new one was better, but still didn't look great. The finish doesn't look like it even comes close to matching the gun either.
That being said, I'd still probably buy one due to the function it performs, but just a headsup incase these things are important to you.
