Swiss Arms CQB Optics, help to chose

Hey guys!, so i have a SA CQB with flat top picatiny receiver on order and with all the excitement can decide what to put one it:p, can you give an advice what might work good on it?
 
The Swiss put the 4x24 Kern on it, but that costs $6000 and is rare. The ACOG is probably the nearest thing you can find to that. Depends what you want to do with the rifle...

Downside of either Kern or AGOC is that 10 years later the tritium night scope starts to dim.
 
Aimpoint T1/H1 on the lowest rail you can find. There is one rail you can get where you can co-witness... Sprint on here had one, and it was NICE!.

I used the T1 on a B&T rail, and thought it was awesome. No need for magnification on (essentially) a 7.5" barrel.

I ended up moving the T1 to the very front slot eventually... but you get the idea!

NEA makes one where you can mount it directly to the picatinny rail and it gives an absolute co-witness, however it sounds like the OP has the flat-top version with the lower permanently attached picatinny rail, in which case having a mount that's a bit higher won't be too big a deal, or you can leave it with the factory base and the flip-up sights should be able to co-witness through the optic when you flip them up :D

Drop it off a 30' stand, run over it with a truck, submerge it in water and see if it keeps zero, or even continues to work (the Aimpoint does).

I'm not saying that you'll need to be able to do that with something you're going to take to and from the range in a padded case, but they're not the same... they're not even playing the same game.
 
great video - I'd like to see someone do comparison tests with the TRS-25 before making a decision.

Still wouldn't make me spend the price for what I need, that's a lot of extra ammo or guns I could buy

another -1 on the 3.5 optic on a dedicated CQB rifle.

I just went from a 1-4x optic (that I found I used mainly at 1x) to the Micro T1
which is faster and smaller.

I'm still accurate enough to hit the "A" zone on an IPSC target at 100m so I have no problem staying strictly with a zero magnification optic.

Having said that, there are other red dots but as far as ones with the same build quality as the ACOG you'll probably want to stay with the Aimpoint red dots.

And you need to be sure you can be as fast with a 3.5x using BAC. I can't get my eyes/brain to do that as fast as a 1x red dot no matter how hard I try. This is good for me since I just saved myself the $500 difference to get a new P.R.O.

These rifles are very accurate out to 300m. Why no love for magnification? Sure as a dedicated cqb, sub 100 aim point all the way, I use a comp m4 because its what I have, doing it again would go with a h1, for magnification nf 1-4 is great march 1-10 even better choice then the kern.
 
Thanks for replies guys!, the thing with acogs for me was the red chevron retical, but i do understand that red dot would be a better choice for it, got some thinking to do....

Honestly in any real world scenario velocity becomes an issue with a barrel that short. CQB is 9 inches? An Aimpoint micro is enough to hit centre mass out to 200 yards definitely, especially if you're doing a hold over (hovering dot above target a bit for drop) as it allows more precision for windage. You could probably hit most of the time at 300 too, but again the velocity is getting pretty low out of that short a barrel at that range.

If you REALLY want a chevron (or at least triangular) retical, Leupold makes the DeltaPoint with a 7.5MOA triangle. Wholesale has them listed on their website (a little less than a T1 Micro. 600 for the Delta) and they seem to be pretty well made. Sort of a Doctor Optics style sight, but with a Magnesium 1-piece housing. If wholesale can get them in, Im sure any Leupold stocking dealers above should be able to get ahold of them for ya :D
