Swiss Arms CQB or Carbine?

I'm planning on picking up a Swiss Arms rifle in the next couple of months and can't make up my mind which to get.

There's been lots of talk about the CQB and the general consensus is that they kick ass. Haven't seen or heard much about the carbines.

They're both restricted and I'm leaning towards the CQB. Is there any real advantage to the 14.3" Carbine? Slightly higher muzzle velocity and a bit less loud?

Which would you choose and why? and let's see those carbine and cqb pics from the guys who are lucky enough to own them.

neither cause i don't have a restricted permit sadly if i did carbine why if you drill enough it would do fine in cqb and looks nicer to me

and arn't those full auto recevers from the looks of it

just out of interest, how can you tell the recievers are FA from looking? select fire markings?

Actually the carbine's bbl length is 17.9" for the one in the pic which is a LB model.

I would love a non-restricted carbine though!

Both the CQB and 14.3" carbine are excellent choices. I'm saving up to buy the 14.3", spoke with someone at TSE and they told me they're going to bring in some short 551's, not just the LB model. I would say the 551 Classic Green is an ideal compromise, compact, yet retains the great accuracy of the rifle version. And stick with the rotary diopters sights, so much nicer than the flip-ups you get with the railed models.

I'm not sure who you spoke to, but sadly that is not correct. Back when we appraoched SAN we needed to committ to numbers and models. We asked around and the LB Carbine barrel with flat top receiver was requested by the service rifle crowd. So we are now committed to this style of gun for the forseeable future.

Skip the SA and get TWO AR carbines for the same money...LOL

Damn SA is ###y as hell tho. Always wanted one of those.

I'd go for the CQB. It's restricted anyway, go for the nasty!

I have owned both. The CQB was a hoot to shoot, sadly the carbine was the same as shooting a PE90

TSE ordered those carbines without the diopter sight and that was a big mistake.. Get the CQB .

How does the 553 gas system differ? Is the CQB still a gas operated system?
