Do you mind if I ask how much money you've put into that project? I'd definitely love an SL8 that I could dress up as a G36 or PSG1, but I suspect that on top of the 2k the rifle will cost me, I'd be looking at a significant amount for stock/grip and rails for each configuration.
Well, I purchased the SL8 for 1600$ on the EE.
G36 single optic for 300$ from EE,
G36 stock from EE for 125$
G36 stripped lower, pin, stock axle, back plate, various other parts from various sources, about 400$ total
Flashhider 25$ from some place don't remember
Barrel work 400$ from local smith
Some misc costs during assembly: 150$
Work putting it all together: Did it myself, so it's priceless.
Total cost was about 3000$. Today I would wager it might be about 4000$, because I got the rifle for a steal I have never seen again.
Your results may vary, your costs may be higher or lower, parts are near impossible to find, risk involved, knowledge required, legal requirements must be satisfied during assembly, toxic fume hazard during assembly, love of final result can ruin marriages, German engineering will leave you envious, etc, etc, you have been warned. But, I get stares of awe and hate at the range. The dude with the Norinco M4gery still chuckles about all the money he saved.
