Does anyone in Switzerland get the idea that this issue is taxing the attention of the regular suspects like IANSA?

I wonder what a fight on multiple fronts is doing to them right now?

swiss guns

The swiss make to much money exporting guns, clocks ,high tech, etc to do this. America just "screwed" them in the banking sector. I don't think they want to just export cheese.lol

FYI Switzerland is not a neutral nation, they haven't been since 2002 when they voted to fully join the UN.

I hope they keep exporting their fantastic firearms though..

Switzerland allows public votes on referendums and constitutional ammendments on laws if they get enough signatures.
The result is that any reasonably sized lobby organization can force an issue to a national vote. It isn't indicative of the popular opinion.

Today's fun fact: the current Swiss constitution is based on the State of California's.

Very interesting fact, I would have thought that the Swiss Constitution of 1848 predates the California citizen initiative laws of 1911, but that's just me.

As superior as the 1911 might be I don't think it forms the basis of things that came before it.

Well if my vote has anything to say about its not gona go through lets just hope Canada Post did there job a got my letter there.

Its stupid that they have lumped everything together small arms along with the big stuff. The big expensive stuff is still gona get there just in pieces.

I think he was being tongue in cheek, in that these kinds of citizen initiatives can really take a nation or state off the rails. I only say that because Kalifornia is such a basket case.

I wouldn't really worry about it, they can simply circumvent the law by licensing the production to a foreign country.

Exactly what I was thinking. We've already seen this in the past. SIG is not allowed to sell firearms outside of CH? No problem, they get Sauer to make them in Germany.

The problem with making them in Germany, is it has to meet the German export laws. Like how the MR223 and MR556 cant be compatable with AR15 lowers.

I know the rifles we get are based off of the Sig 540, but they may require changes to be made....

In any case, I hope that the citizens think with their heads and do the right thing!

These rifle's are simply too incredible to deny other people! :D

If the Swiss get rid of their army I claim dibs on the country !:pirate:

Good luck on that. ;)

the system actually work rather well. Starting an initiative takes a long time. This one took about two years to get through the system, that makes sure that the really dumb ideas never even make it that far.

In the end the voters usually make the right decision in the long run.

True, but we'd lose a lot of jobs. The leftist morons had the idea of supporting the affected companies during 10 years, so that these companies can switch their production from military equipment to other stuff. It would only cost about 500 millions total.

Do the Swiss even have tanks to export?

ever heard of the LAV? http://mowag.ch/En/02E_Products/021E_PiranhaIII.htm
