Alot of money for a 556cal gun. They are nice....but if they were in 762cal Then i may miss them. We have some good 556cal built here in Canada. And as Darren said above?

It's just another service rifle, stamped steel, too slow of a twist, and with mildly awkward selector/mag ergos. Quality is reasonably good however.

You can get the 1/7 twist barrels for them.

The 1/10 twist was made for the heavier GP10 ammo, so the Swiss Arms like heavy bullets.

quality on my friends Black Special is extremely good, and they are built like tanks!

It is funny in New Zealand the refurbished PE90s with a 1/10 twist are prefered over the SG-550s with the 1/7 twist. Of course our Service Rifle rules limit us to 55 or 62 grain military equivalent ammunition when shooting .223/5.56, and the PE90 performs better.

It would be a shame if we no longer had access to these rifles, but I really think it is a little early to start panicking. As was mentioned there Swiss can work around that if it ever gets that far.

Aren't some of the swiss rifles non-restricted here? I tried a search but only came up with minimal information.

Would someone please point me toward a good thread that is specific to these rifles.

Any Swiss thinking of voting for this should be required to watch this video:

As an Aussie it cracks me up, but in real life it would be very applicable to Switzerland as well.

sssshhh or the Fijians will realise they can take us.

I think one of the problems the Swiss face is that their National Service/CMT is seen especially by the younger generations as a archaic chore that prevents them from getting out in the work force making real money.

The final result is in: 68% voters said no, so you don't have to worry.

minaret's just got banned, though, which won't make the muslim countries too fond of us.

No more minarets dang! Where am I going to go postal from?

Oh wait they still have town clocks and church steeples, I'm good.
