I have a Swiss Arms flat top with a MK4 2-8 with target turrets in low rings.

Took it to the range the the spend brass is hammering the windage turret and taking material off of it. The damage to the scope is secondary to the potential of constantly loosing zero.

Any ideas for a fix?

Put it in a Pepr mount. I've never had any issues with brass hitting my scope. The rear of the scope is about even with the grip. When I shoot, my nose rests on the metal loop for the sling. My scope is in the Pepr mount because the nuts are on the left. The Leupold mount has the nuts on the right side, and bashed my knuckles when using the charging handle.

I ran the same Mark 4 on my Swiss flat top and never had that problem. I was using Badger Ordnance 30mm medium rings. I had the lower profile M2 turrets on mine.

What reticle? Any chance you can rotate 90 and make windage elevation and vise-versa?

Interesting though - I had contemplated mounting my NF 2.5-10x24 in low rings, but id likely see the same issue. No issues in a higher mount (ADM recon) but I think it's the low windage knob that's the issue.

With target turrets you are likely to have brass impact. As above higher rings might work - although you may then also require a cheek rest to shoot the rifle properly.
