Getting a Swiss arms in .223 and having trouble deciding on optics. I have a Burris 1.5-6 xtr on hold but finding people comparing them to brands that are half the price? I'm looking to spend about 1,000.00 and furthest I would be shooting is 200 yards.

What are peoples opinions on best bang for the buck?

I have mounted an EOtech with magnifier and found it too cumbersome.
I have mounted an ACOG TA31 and find it too underpowered.
Next I'm going to try an Accupoint because the rifle could use the magnification due to the accuracy it is capable of.

I find the 4x magnification on the ACOG TA31 is more than enough for most situations. Since you're not going to be shooting past 200 yards, 4x should be just fine.

sometimes it really is fun to head to the range on a quiet day, and really see how well you can shoot, for that more magnification is often a plus. Not sure limiting yourself to low power is always wise. The almost perfect optic for a Non-restricted SAN is something in the 1-10 range. Right now in your price range a used NF 2.5-10 can be found. Perfect scope, as rugged as the gun...almost, crystal clear, you can shoot with both eyes open up to 4 power without any issues, and it gives you that extra magnification.

The burris you have is not a bad scope in fact it falls in the middle of the worst and best for your rifle

I use the NF 1-4 on the carbines and its a great optic, but having a little more power is nice. They are all getting switched over to 1-10's so might have some coming up for sale.

Not within your price range, but I have the new IOR Eliminator (1-10x 26) dual reticle scope on my Black Special. Very fitting for this rifle.
