I feel like I'll get more of a response here than in the optics forum. I want to know what kind of optics everyone is running on their SAN Black Specials/Classic Greens for coyotes.

Is anyone using just the irons for hunting? What's your shot placement like out to 250-300 yards?

I'm using the Kyle rail, and I'm especially interested in a scope setup that would allow cowitnessing or sits low enough or high enough to still permit full use of the irons, even if that means swapping out the rail for one that sits a little lower.

3.5X35 TA11F Acog.
The 3" eye relief really helps on the Swiss Arms. The cheek piece is nice to have for this setup. At 300m I can keep all rounds on an 8" round steel gong and that is with factory 55's.
You can still use the irons with this setup as the Acog has a see-through channel.

The above setup works just fine but I have the actual SIG TA11 mount on order as it will look cleaner, quick detach completely from the receiver when I want to use irons and I like the OEM look better.

You would want a cheek riser to use an ACOG with a standard iron sight model, because the hight of both the ACOG and the top rail will make a proper cheek weld impossible. With the flattop target models, I've been trying out an adapter made by DDLES which raises the stock by about .5" and is about as perfect as you can get with an ACOG.

I have the irons and a kpa, might just stick with the m4 and irons for a bit

eta, I think a fabric buttstock zip bag would be a good idea, add foam to desired height. Lighter than the hard riser and easy to stow if you go back to irons. Might be time to call a rigger...

I use a flat top model and have a Mark 4 3.5-10x scope. The SAN cheek rest is too high for this setup. The Double Diamond unit sounds like it would be just right, but it's not listed on their site. :(

Sure it is, right here. They now ship directly to Canada. I was the guinea pig ;)

I'm going to do a full review on my website, and I'll likely post it here too but the only negative things I have noticed is that when folding the stock, the rear take down pin makes contact with the adapter. There needs to be a small amount of material removed. Also, I would like to see the the depth of the buffer tube increased by one or two turns, if it's feasible from a design standpoint. Lastly, the stock obviously does not lock up when folded but it would be nice to design some sort of spring solution to hold it open, like the ACR. Also a point on stock selection, it's best to use a narrow stock like the CTR, because the ones with batter compartments (Sopmod) bump up against the side of the rifle and don't fold nicely.

I will say this though, the machining, fit and finish of this adapter is second to none. Definitely high quality and IMHO the best on the market. Man is it nice to adjust the LOP on the Swiss Rifle!

Oh, I misread and couldn't see the pics. I also have a M4 stock adaptor for my SAN but still haven't found the right stock to use. Plus I'm a cheapskate and don't want to spring for a PRS in case I don't like it!:D
