The SG551 weighs the same as a HK416 with 14.5" barrel. The SG550 weighs the same as a HK416 with 20" barrel. You don't seem to have issues with the HK platform weight.

9 lb is no problem at all. Carried mine for two years every day, one really gets used to it.

I still prefer my 551LB, though.
 
I toted my FN around back in the day, and now I enjoy shooting my Classic Green. Maybe you guys need to eat your Cheerios. My only complaint with my Swiss Arms is not the weight but that it is a little front heavy. Although the FN was a bit heavier it did feel lighter in the hands as it is a more balanced weapon.
 
I'm still waiting for them to come out in 308. Don't get me wrong, I like the 223cal but in a gun with that length of barrel, it might as well be doing something.

Oh zing. It's probably the superior H&K machining. It makes percieved weight seem less but only for the true OPERATOR.
 
They're saying I can buy one of these but an HK93 is prohib. What the hell... :confused: Did some crack head make up these rules? :onCrack: On 2nd thought, don't answer that. I gotta pay closer attention to who I vote for.

Neat looking rifle by the way. I may make that my first purchase. Can that stalk be changed?
