A couple of quick questions for the more experienced Swiss Arms gurus:

First: I want a receiver-mounted optics rail for my Classic Green. I can get the Kyle rail locally, and I have also read about a proprietary rail from Swiss Arms, but haven't seen even a picture yet. Which one do I want, and why? I want to mount it and leave it in place so I can add or remove a scope in QD rings, but always have access to the iron sights.

Second: The first Swiss Arms that I owned locked up very tight and wobble free. My current gun has a lot of play between the upper and lower receiver halves. You can see it, hear it and feel it and I'm really finding it irritating. Is there anything that can be done about this, maybe something along the lines of the Accuwedge? If the answer is just "live with it" I can accept that, although I might wind up selling it if that's the case. I was just hoping for an easy fix.

Thanks in advance for any help.

For a scope rail you should get the B&T rail from Wolverine. The Kyle rail is heavy. I've owned quite a few Swiss Arms rifles. They all have that play between the upper and lower. It is normal.

I don't have any play on my CQB or Classic Green. Will have to ask around the next time I am out shooting with other Swiss Arms friends.

I have the Kyle rail on my classic green and it is heavy. The B+T rail is much lighter.

What kind of scope are you mounting? If it is a STANAG mounting system SIG made a QD STANAG mount that would require no tools to install or remove from the receiver. I don't know if any made it into Canada:

Get the BT rail its nice, then again you could just leave it and shoot irons only.

How low is the BT rail compared to the target model rail? Do you need a cheekpiece on the stock for a decent cheekweld?

Thanks for the replies, gents. I see that Wolverine has the B&T rail in stock and expect that's what I will go with. Does it mount on the Swiss Arms without gunsmithing, i.e. drilling?

Also (and I'm sorry to keep harping on this!) it appears as though I could take a large amount of the play out of my rifle with a brass shim or two on either side of the hinge pin. Crazy idea? I find the wobble really irritating. I don't even know if it affects my accuracy, since without the scope mount I can't properly compare the accuracy of this gun with my old (scoped) target Black Special, but it definitely affects my enjoyment of the gun.
