Imagine the headlines in the CBC, Global, CTV, Star, Globe and Mail: "CPC removes restrictions and records of assault rifle ownership. Thousands of automatic-convertable high powere assault rifles are in Canada and no one knows who owns them since the LGR was removed"

Kind of like this.... only much much worse.

www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/12/16/f-rfa-macdonald-guns.html

Or this from today even.

I'm sure the CPC is looking for more media hysteria against them...

There... it's almost like Foxer was here in person. I miss him.

Nothing we have is C/A.

If nothing you have or sent in was C/A, then why on earth did this all come about? If I recall, wasn't it CSC sent in three samples of their SAN's for review because a competitor said they were selling C/A's?

Is this all about the Swiss Army refurb rifles they were selling?

You have it backwards. A rifle we sold was sent in by a competitor for testing. Two other rifles were tested at the same time. Their source is not known, but it is assumed they were the control samples. These two rifles turned out to be C/A. Since they were likely the control samples the RCMP then had reason to believe the entire line was C/A.

Rather than having two site sponsors at each others throats, both of whom have financial and personal investement in how this story is told, maybe we could wait to see all the puzzle pieces together?

Perhaps its not so simple for them after 23 pages of rabid baiting by the rest of us.

Did I say 23 pages ? Guess I forgot about the other 1/2 doz threads going on for this topic.

In the absence of information, people make up their own "facts". I am just trying to sort through the story, not have CSC and TSE "at each other's throats"

so sounds like JR is good to go, and you are not? Am i following you?

Apparently not.
Our gun was not C/A.
The control guns were - no idea where they came from but they have caused the RCMP to consider most of the line C/A.
The investigation has now moved on to determining whether the Canadian guns are in fact SG550's.
This is all the result of someone requesting an investigation into the gun sold by this store.

,,, and since then not one effing thing has happened, no shootings, no suicides by 55X,,, nada !!

This is murky and confusing. In the end, I hope the RCMP can just leave us the hell alone and we can go back to enjoying our chosen sport without fear of constant harrassment.

I know they will never rest until there are nothing but single shot .22's locked up in central storage for hunters but one can friggin hope.

Well just like I said the RCMP lab can only do 2 things to ban any guns under current bill
Either prove it as C/A or to prove it as prohibited by name variant

I am glad now it's off the C/A hook.
Hopefully the factory can provide enough info to prove RCMP lab it's not the 550 variant

I don't understand how this reclassification would help at all. Gangbanger homeboy joe on the street won't run guns this expensive anyway so prohibing this wont affect them, and top drawer criminal organizations would have no trouble bringing these guns in, prohib or not. So the only people that get screwed are law abiding citizens.

Well they are just doing their job which by how law been wrote. So there is no logical or make any sense for them

So yes ban all Swiss arm won't make our country any safer but that's the law have been wrote which no C/A and no prohibited variant allowed.

That's why they can't stop norinco bring in the new T97NSR at all
this gun is much cheaper and will be all over place. At least way more than Swiss arm

I hope since then all importer or factory can be smart enough to make the true civilian version instead been lazy
to just take few parts off the oringal select fire version and call it the day
Give those lab guys a chance to classfiy it as converted auto

Well maybe the sky isn't falling after all. Sounds like their is plenty of hope yet.
