So I need a semi-auto .22LR and I've heard the Swiss Arms is better than the ISSC/GSG or SIG Mosquito.
Any truth to this?
Any first hand reviews?
Anyone know the thread of the barrel?

I own one. It’s a sig mosquito with Swiss Arms grips put on. It’s a fun little pistol but is a bit finicky. I find when it is fouled up a bit it starts to have issues, it likes to stay lubed and I find the return spring would have been better if it was a bit heavier. It also likes HP ammo like mini mags. I tried running some wildcats through it and it did not like them at all. It’s not a chew through anything throw in the mud and keep going type of pistol but it is a fun plinker that fits the hand very well and shoots not to bad at all. I got it 20% off and I figure that is about as much as I would pay for it for what it is. My $0.02

ive had one for a few years. its great with mini-mags. anything slower and it will stove pipe regularly. I had an issue with a bent decocker and blueline replaced it with no charge. its a cheap gun/inexpensive gun but i'm happy with it.

.22 pistol? Buy a Buck Mark or a Ruger if you want new. For older stuff...Colt Woodsman, Beretta 71 and most of the High Standards. I've found the .22's dressed up to look like a 9 seem to have far more issues than a dedicated .22 that's designed for the round from the ground up.

Yup..what he said. I had one a few years ago. While it felt great in my hand and had a smooth action, it sucked otherwise. The trigger was way too heavy and it was very picky with ammo. Get yourself a Buckmark or a Ruger Mark IV and be happy. Love love love my buckmark as it is my go to 22 plinker that will eat any ammo and do it with an awesome trigger.

I’m a big fan of the Browning 1911-22.

Small enough for kids and small women to easily use.

Weighs one pound with a full mag.

Build quality is still solid, and it’s worth the extra money.

why would you lump GSG in the same group as issc and mosquito?
Gsg is miles apart in terms of reliability from the other two junkets.

Thanks guys, I'm looking for something with a threaded barrel to match the rest of my collection.
Semi-auto, threaded barrel and sub $500 all in.
I don't quite know much about .22LR handguns since, up until now, I've never needed one.
So GSG FireFly, das ist gut? (I just had to do it in German)

Spend the extra money for the .22LR version of the SIG Sauer P226 if you specifically want that style of pistol in .22. The other ones, be they from Swiss Arms, GSG, ISSC, or the SIG Mosquito, are pot metal (i.e. zinc alloy) junk.

Does anyone know if there are any S&W SW22 threaded barrel left in Canada?
I wasn't aware that the rest were pot metal.
How have the Walther PPQ M2 in .22LR been performing?

Update: After a shyte load of hours on YouTube, forums and searching stores, I just ordered a Smith & Wesson SW22 Victory from Tenda for $380.

Thank you all for guiding me!!!

Wish it was a threaded model but they had this one on sale.
If the threaded model would have been in stock, it would have been $470...simply a no brainer for $380!

All stainless, no Zamak, two mags, free shipping, an adjustable trigger stop and lots of aftermarket support.

Thoughts?

Good choice, I have not used it, but hear good things about it, I would have got the scope rail, but that is my old eyes talking.
I shoot Hi Standards, most of the times.
That gun will stand up good, and you don't have to spend a bunch of money to make them shoot good.

I agree. I looked for a pistol for semi-serious target competition; looking at everything new and comparing it to my High Standard Sport King. I bought a 1970's High Standard Sharpshooter in like new condition for half the price of a new Ruger and it fits me better and has a better trigger; can't wait to get it home.

One guy at our club has one, and he really shoots well with it. You got it for a great price! Enjoy!

Did I mention they also come with an optics rail?
I can't hardly wait to get mine!

Should be better than the SA-22/Mosquito in the same price range.
I wanted two .22LR handguns but I'm tapped out for little while.

How have the Heritage Rough Rider revolvers been holding up?
They look hard to beat for the money.
I know they are mostly made of aluminum and Zamak and won't last several generations but they are very well priced.

You will like this plinker. They are great out of the box. Have a look at the Tandem Kross trigger...well worth the money if you feel like upgrading. It is light years ahead of the mosquito or SA22.

Can I order directly from Tandemkross?
I'd love the black flat trigger.
Also thinking about these Altamont grips and a shame they don't ship outside the US:
