I don't think the majority of people are selling based on the status.
I have a black special target model, absolutely beautiful firearm, I wouldn't let the status pressure me to sell, doubtful they will be daft enough to try to prohibit them again. However, it might be going up for sale so I can justify buying a couple more 1911's, I told the wife I wouldn't dump any more money into the collection for a while but that doesn't mean I'm not going to get some new toys. The timing that my local shop just brought in a nice Browning and a Kimber 1911 is pure coincidence with this C-42 business.
