Swiss Arms VS ACR

It's not being single that hurts it's the kid thing. If I could spend on firearms what I spend on my daughter, wow what a collection I would have.

I could likely get everything I've ever wanted in just a year or two.

Some really great pic.'s btw, nice to see many of you sharing some really sweet set-up's.

Cheers D

Yeah, I hope to get most of what I want before something serious ties down my spending ability.

True! The kid thing! It is okay I don't regret it though :)

Nothing to do with SA and ACR but it got my new Elcan :) All in this picture were acquired within 12 months and I am NOT done lol. I'm so much in trouble with my wife lol

If your specter is anything like mine you'll have to ditch that flip up sight and move the DR way back to get proper eye relief. I would never consider sacrificing proper optic placement to be able to use BUIS. The DR is a tank, you don't need to worry about it failing and having to use the BUIS in an emergency, especially since it's on an AR which is range only so unlikely to get too much abuse.
I put my rear BUIS in front of my specter on my AR. That way if I ever actually needed to use them I can just remove the DR and then slide the rear sight back.

Nice rifles by the way :)
You won't be disappointed with the PWS, mine has over 5000 rounds through it and has never had a single malfunction other than ones induced by me not seating the magazine fully.

My laptop crapped out so I can't post pics for a while :(

You're weird. Lol

Why not just put the BUIS as far back as possible and then mount the Elcan as far back as possible so it hangs over the BUIS as shown on my ACR? No problems doing it that way and that's why the DR was designed how it was.

I'm weird? This from the guy that buys a Modern Hunter, Swiss Arms, ACR, and whatever else I've forgotten you have but you never shoot any of them. Then dump hundreds of dollars on them adding lights and dolling them up so they can make for good pictures on here? You live on a farm, all your rifles should have 1000+ rounds through them. You should come visit more often, you'd actually use your toys.

It's not far enough back on an AR if you keep the BUIS behind it, not for me anyway. I run mine all the way back because I don't like having my stock fully collapsed to get the correct eye relief. It's actually pretty much the only complaint I have with the DR.
I don't think the DR designers gave a rats behind about being able to have BUIS mount under it. That may be why they built BUIS into the top of it.
With a quality optic there really isn't much point in running BUIS, the chances of an optic failure are pretty low if you spend the money on quality glass. Run Bushnell and BUIS are probably a good idea, run Elcan, Aimpoint, Trijicon, NF, etc not really any point unless you want to mall ninja co-witness.
The only use I have for BUIS is getting on paper first shot when I put a different dot sight on, besides that they stay folded, if I want to shoot irons I pull out my AR180 or M14. Maybe if I was doing 3-gun a set at 45° would be nice for up close but it's nothing a good 1-4 couldn't do just as well.

Lol. Solid points. Yeah I definitely need to make a point of using my stuff more. To much work not enough play. :(

But I can still shop. :)

I went on a serious pre-engagement spending spree. It was a good choice. I can now also sell/trade for things I want. But dear, I'm not spending anything, just trading!

Exactly! You have the right idea.

Sigh... the life of a farmer. Thankfully the Swiss/XCR/soon MV can sit in the tractor with me.

This too!

You need STANAG mags and some AR parts compatibility = ACR.

You want bombproof reliability and have the budget to buy the expensive propietary accessories to kit it out = Swiss Arms.

Both are capable of amazing accuracy for a semi.
