Swiss Arms - worth the price?

I just got my Green Classic yesterday. I took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together within an hour of owning it and I really like it. I like that it's made of steel, balances well for me, and seems to exude an aura of quality just sitting still. Today I put 130 rounds through it and understand the billing this rifle has. I don't have optics on it yet but my accuracy with the diopter sights was great. I could go on and on but having owned AR's and an FN in the past my opinion is that the Swiss Arms rifle is definantly best for me.

Congrats on your purchase. Now you know how powerfull is the force with the PE90:evil:

PS: I still own AR's and FN's and prefer the PE90 :D

I have been blasting away at gongs and water bottles for the past couple of days with my Classic Green...it's been raining eachtime I've went. and 700 rnds later there have been no failures...not a hic-cup....the only maintanence I performed was a good spray down with clp and a quick exterior wipe down...My old c7 would have never made it through the mud and sand like that...worth every penny and then some

The only problem I find with it is...there is a little dumb decal on the side that says *the shooting edge*.
Before I lay down $3 large I would want it removed.
I bet everyone would love stores to start etching their name in your firearms.

That is their importation markings as they are the sole importers on this item and it is lasered into the finish so you would hafta refinish it I would think. Some ppl have tried to do this ie. repainting but IMO, it makes it worse and less desirable in my eyes.

There are used models out there without the importation (TSE logo) markings on them. Keep your eyes on the EE.

Not sure why, my AR's have and do.

Cuz u don't do the 'John Woo jump in the air while shooting with an AR in each hand followed by a roll in the mud while yelling at the top of your lungs' maneuver. This is the new SOP for firearms endurance testing now .....:D;)

Or cuz u don't put enough rounds downrange!!! :D:D ... you are the real reason why there is a shortage of ammo not the sand box situation that is depleting the ammo supply... :D:D :runaway:

They have to do that??? could have put it somewhere else. Looks more like advertising to me.

It is my understanding that the factory is building these specifically for the Canadian civvie market in between their primary customer base of military/LE contract orders and offered to etch the rifles per the importer's specs.

I am sure that TSE capitalized on the marketing aspect of having their logo permanently etched on these unique rifles. I am not all that fond of the etched 'classic green' nor 'black special' wording either but recognize that these markings along with the importation mark may help better differentiate this rifle from the prohib Sig 55x when your friendly LEO questions the status of your evil looking toy. Just pull out your cert from the pistol grip storage compartment and show him the markings and sn...

I also believe the classic greens now only come in black furniture to differentiate from the green on the military versions vs earlier shipments

I am just grateful to have access to these goods due to TSE efforts so I don't mind the markings. I trust the service oriented team at TSE such as JR or James would be happy to take a custom order for no markings as they can also have the Red Devil colour option as well.. but it is a personal preference matter as others have stated.

Would you decide against purchasing your car of choice because you don't like the hood emblem or the dealership markings they afixed?

FWIW, I have seen some repainted ones ie blue to black, removed the markings etc and would not touch them given the prices asked as it is no longer original but to each their own.. who knows what else has been done to them..

Sure I would like to pay less but the market seems to support the $3000 SRP so the choice that each potential buyer must face is what else may I buy in lieu of this: 2 AR15's, 2 AR10's, a few pistols etc... just like the current real estate prices... they are at record highs but if you want in now, you are going to have to pay as other buyers will which keeps the prices high currently.. supply & demand

Well, I stand corrected.

Too true, YTD is +/- 6000 rds 9mm and less than 4000 rds 5.56 and only 600 rds 12 ga. My 7.62 count is too embarrasing to think about...maybe 120 rds.

Re the shortage, well I do have a bit of ammo left in the basement:D

I have to admit after doing some research and talking to people who own the PE-90 including a gun smith. I'm now leaning towards one in the future, even though I still think it's funny looking :D. I understand they are made very well and fairly accuarate.
