Swiss black powder

Scored 15 lbs of swiss black powder today. I dont know if that is lots or not.

Scored 15 lbs of swiss black powder today. I dont know if that is lots or not.

I have never tried swiss "yet" I have only been able to get goex.

But 15 lbs of real black powder "whatever brand" is a mighty fine foundation for a good time with the big bore smoothies!!

Im down to a bit less then a pound due to a fun session with my charleville and longland.

Im due to pick up a few more lbs.

Are they difficult to make? Is there any seaside property reasonably priced withing striking distance of Halifax?

Paper cartridges are extremly easy to make,
Get a wooden dowel smaller then your bore size then wrap the paper around it
Seal the edge with some glue stick.

I then crupple the base and dip it in bees wax drop a ball in and tie the base of the ball with string fill remainder with powder and fold over.

For loading I rip the base of the cartridge dump the powder in the bore and load the cartridge in ball up, and tamp it down.

Prime the pan and your ready to go.



In the old days they would prime the pan first then load for speed, I dont have hundreds of screaming frenchmen charging at me with bayonets twirling so I do it priming last.
