Swiss Competetion Slide Show

The biggest shooting competition in the world.

Shooting competitions took place across the whole of Switzerland over the first weekend of June, including in Überstorf, in canton Fribourg. Around 2,000 people from the region took part. In Switzerland as a whole, the number of participants was around 146,000. The annual event mixes sport and competition with a party atmosphere.

...Awesome. Wish we could be that organized. For that matter I wish the public had the same view on firearm ownership as the swiss..

You'll have to explain what you mean to most of the readers here, I would think. They would not be aware of the nuances of bringing a non-Swiss military weapon to a 300m range in the country, unless it's a free rifle or CISM.

Sorry, I forgot.

Most 300m-ranges don't allow anything else then swiss military issue rifles. So everything else then a Kar31, Stgw57 and SIG 550 is rarely seen on such a range. Some target-rifles are also allowed, but only in GP11 (7,5 Swiss).

Technically and from a legal point of view it's perfectly okay to use something else, it's just that the clubs don't allow to use them.

Fortunately I shoot at a quite liberal range so I'm allowed to use my Howa bolt action rifle there. But that's not the norm.

On the first video, the guy walks right into a bank with his rifle on his back. Here in Canada, you wouldn't even make it to the bank. I bet after walking a few blocks in the city you would have a Swat Team on your tail.
