Swiss K11 Carbine - Seeking More Info Please!

Indeed? I wonder how much RL-17 would cost.

I'm sort of a budget shooter, being in my position (young and just out of Uni.) I'm wondering if Hornady etc make a simple, cheap, decent 7.5mm bullet for shooting in the Swiss rifles?

I've been used to H335 and Winchester 760 powders for a long time. I wonder if those would work as well? I'm looking for more of pieplate group at 200+ yards. Any thoughts on that?

For that range hornady 150gr or rem 165sp do ok.
For load data for whatever powder:

I can't think of any safe loads that won't do Minute of Pie Plate at 200yds in a Swiss rifle with jacketed bullets.
Least with a scope.
:)

If you can't find a recommended load range for your powder, just use .308 data starting loads for that bullet weight and powder and work up from there.
7.5x55 is closer to 30-06 anyway, so you'll be safe. Larger capacity of the 7.5 reduces .308 PSI to safe levels

Just don't try to use too fast or too slow of a powder if it is not listed for .308

Indeed, very neat! Thanks again!

For myself, I don't use scopes... iron sights are my thing so shooting out to 300 yards with a 15" target is usually what I enjoy most. Gongs are the best! I figure if you can hit a 10-15" target consistently at that range on irons, you should never have an issue with putting food on the table or defending your home, if need be.

Well that didnt last long.

Its nice to read about people getting new rifles, but sad to see them in the EE a few days later because the owner can't afford them. Seems like a regular thing for you..I hope university pays off!

Well, don't count your chickens yet. It's a last resort sale, I have a .22LR Marlin 795 and M95M Mannlicher up on the EE already. Would rather keep this K11, honestly.

University isn't cheap. Hopefully it will indeed pay off.
