As soon as I purchased a K31, I thought it would be great to take a deer with one! I rigged this one up with the Swiss products offset mount, Burris signature rings and a Leupold vx2 Canadian 3-9, which fit the rifle nicely.

My load was ppu brass, rl17 powder pushing a 165 interlock at 2650 fps. Quite accurate In this gun.

The bucks were moving a bit today. I saw a couple smaller bucks this morning. This afternoon I was fortunate to have this guy take off across a trail where I was set up. He headed into some thick aspen at a full run, I shot once and the deer changed direction a bit. I cycled the nice Swiss action quickly and fired again. I could not see the deer, or hear him. Waited a bit and walked into the aspen . The first shot grazed his neck, the second was a good hit, he dropped and slid to a stop. Did not look like he thrashed around so it happened quick for him.

He also had a bad flesh wound to one shoulder, so I hope I ended any suffering he may have been enduring.

Here are a few pics of him, and the K31.

Thank you, and thanks to everyone for the nice comments!

I believe you are much more successful than I am at moose, and you have taken some huge deer as well!

I just seem to be very lucky with whitetails.
