Hi all,
Looking for a surplus k31 in the Regina or Edmonton area. Is there any shops that sell the rifles, and the gp11 ammo?

Thanks

Milarm sometimes has a k31 or two kicking around check p&d as well as far as regina goes im not sure but in stoon the gun smith shoppe had one on his table at the gun show a few weeks ago.

I was at South Common WHolesale sports a week ago and it was 299/case of 480 , several weeks before it was 325 /case480. I didn't see any rifles so I assumed the rifle sale was sold out.

Ahh got it. It's literally around the corner from me! Looks like I'm getting one tomorrow.
Thanks for the tip!

Look closely at their rifles before you buy, I looked at 15+ from wss and they were hands down the worst k31's ive ever seen.

I got one from nothside wss +ammo. not too pretty, has the name under the butplate. Shoots like very good, First 3 shots at a 2ft square gong at 200 right on target freehand, Have not had time to rally bench test it but I am happy so far.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll pick around if they have them. Did the rifle come with the sling, cleaning kit, etc?

Picked up a numbers matching 1941 in south edmonton. Well used but not too bad. Has a very legible troop tag that has been in there a while and a few notches in the but of the stock to signify something....

I was just in there today and talked to the guy behind the counter. He told me they had about 10 K31s left. They only had one on display, and I had a look at it. Walnut stock, the standard beaver chewed butt, and a well used sling. But all in all, the rifle looked pretty good. When I came in there were 6 cases of ammo on sale for $299.00. But when I left there were only 2. ;)

The retail supply of these K31 rifles must be starting to get thin on the ground in Canada by now.

The reports floating around are that they are drying up. A friend of mine called a few site sponsors looking for them, and they were out, and not expecting any more anytime soon. I have also read on the board (somewhere) that there are no more big batches to buy overseas, but only a few here and a few there. But then, we also hear the same thing about the SKS. There is no way a guy like me can know for sure. But it stand to reason that they will dry up. What I really wonder about is the ammo. The rifles will still be around, but once the ammo is burnt, it is gone.

GP11 ammo is still used by the Swiss army in their MGs. It is unlikely to dry up completely for quite some time. However you are correct. Eventually, the guns will be around when the ammo is no longer available as surplus. This is pretty much where the Lee Enfield is today.

I bought a case of gp11 at wss south for 299. Beautiful 1992 production. I thought I read somewhere that '94 was the last year...
The wss in Regina had a beautiful 1930s k31 on display but wouldn't let me have it, so I got mine in edmonton. It is a 1941,
Has the tag under the butt, is all matching and in very good shape. Even has a 1941 dated sling and brass muzzle cap! The only real damage out of the ordinary is a series of knife notches in the stock. Not sure what it signifies but maybe I can get ahold of the original soldier or family.
