Just bought one and waiting around for it to arrive.

I was looking for tweaks already and stumbled on this website.

It's been years since I went over to the US for any accessories but is it legal now to obtain the muzzle brake/scope mount in the USA? Is there a Canadian source of these types of tweaks ?

You can also get in touch with the member "diopter" on here as well. I'm sure he will be along soon to help you out.

I haven't tried out my muzzle break yet, but they are supposed to tame the recoil by a huge amount, and believe me, if you shoot a bunch at a time in a T-shirt in the summer, you need one! I pounded off about 100 rounds of the GP11 surplus in a T-shirt one day and really felt it the next day without the brake!

The scope mount is really great! No smith mount and nice and solid when locktited! I have an old vintage Weaver K6 on mine (you can find these and K4's in the EE for about $100-150 in great shape) and it looks the part and is pretty good out to about 250-300 yds. I had a 4-12 Vortex on it originally, but it really screwed up the look of the old rifle.

As above, though the muzzle brake is very helpful and simple to install. I don't shoot my k31 without it. The quick mount is a great option, get the aluminum one. A vintage looking Weaver scope would be a nice touch. It takes a bit of getting used to the offset for the scope since the rounds eject from the top.

Give a call to the Calgary Shooting Center. They stock a bunch of Swiss Arms, Hamerli, etc. parts for these - both OEM and aftermarket and their contacts within Switzerland can dig up pretty much anything for these that you'd need.
They have GP11 in stock the last I was there too.

Thanks for the tips... It just arrived. At most I want to take it close to a k31-55 like this link

Can't wait to get some range time with it in the as is.. Action is smooth, bore looks good, the wood is a bit rough but purty guns don't necessarily shoot well.

I am already budgeting for a second gun to re barrel/re chamber and "sporterize", thinking 6mm variant.

I still have 480 rounds of match grade 7.5 waiting patiently to be fired. I recommend using the iron sights first and I trust you will be plenty satisfied with the sheer accuracy of these fine rifles as is.

You Sir, are worse than Hitler.

Expensive due to the camming surface on the barrel face which is needed for proper bolt operation.
Cheapest way is to sleeve an existing barrel shank to accept an barrel of the other caliber. Still $$$.

They pretty good as is and you can add the acessories as you you go if you think you need them.

$315 gross + Shipping came to the door for $340 ish, haven't been to the range yet, on reputation these are shooters. This one has some "cosmetic" wear to the wood but the bore, action look great; and just for the milsurps, this one stays OEM.

Tradex, Calgary Shooting Centre and I think a couple other site sponsors have them.

I was asking because CSC has them for $250, but I didn't buy one because they were so beaten up and I found rust on some of the barrel bands. I would just buy it as a wall hanger anyway, so I was hoping to find one that doesn't look like it was pulled out of a dumpster.
