Just got back from Vancouver and meeting a friend at the club for the Schützenfest.
This is a good chance to see k31s and Sig 210s in use along with the electronic targets and monitors plus some exotic ISSF 300m Standard 300m target rifles and Standard pistols.
The 22 target rifles are the real McCoys too.

Here are some picture links.

Man! What a class act!
Trpically Swiss, Done right and run like a small alpine country.
Everytime I see pics of that place I want to defect!

Here is a little something about the electronic targets.

Number on the left of monitor is shot number =4th

In the middle, score = 9, Dot is o'clock postion: more than 5:30, less than 6 o'clock. The dots are actually 45minutes apart

Number on the right is score on 100pt ring target, 82 pts.
Outer half of 9 ring is from 80 to 85, inner half of 9 ring is 86 to 89 pts on the A100 target. All monitors can show the scores in any of the target scoring sysstems used in switzerland, A5, A10, A100 = round targets with 5, 10 and 100 pts max. and B4 and B10 military silihouette targets.

A diiferent electronic target system is used for smallbore and pistol.

All 18 to 60 year old men have to shoot the rifles with a sling only, no support is allowed in 300m and smallbore 50m rifles matches.

Oh yes, milsurp content, rifle above is a K31

Neat looking range: covered shed, raised platforms, weather doors, club house behind the firing point, bullets flying well above ground and impacting on the other side of a short valley.

Where is the range?

I'd hate to try to read the wind. The range in St Bruno has a noticeable right and down windforce under some circumstances.

Port Coquitlam, B.C.

Did not notice any wind to speak of the three days I was there.
Sheltered on three sides.

Nowhere as windy as St.Bruin, and as for Connaught....... < ............... >
