Swissarms and EE.

Out of curiosity are CGN'ers able to sell their rifles or is everyone too nervous to buy them??

???
they are still legal to own and buy, the bill is not law yet
if you want a swiss for under 1500$ hell even 2000$ good luck, the ones who own then will jyst hang on to then

You can sell them. At the right price I'm sure they'll still sell pretty quick.

Some people might be adverse to buying one, but not everyone is.

Why should they worry? Sorry I missed something I think

Some people assume the province CFOs will stop issuing ATTs like they did with other grandfathered prohibited guns and they might be right.
A sub 1000$ CZ 858 isnt that bad of a gamble but when its 3000$+ people might not want to take that chance.
If they stop issuing transport authorisations the gun becomes a safe queen / paperweight basically.

I am keeping mine and have one of my grandson have it grandfathered at is name, they are unique rifle.

Thought they said there will be no passing them on through inheritance unless the person has the right 12.(whatever number they make up) license which no one will have unless they owned one when they changed the classification.

If this does go through and they make them restricted or prohibited the resale value will drop quickly, this is one of the reasons there seems to be so many for sale right now.

Being grandfathered into this new classification is not a good thing, it will not allow anyone to all of a sudden buy firearms they couldn't before and it will do nothing but turn a bunch of very nice firearms into range queens or even worse into paperweights (eventually).
Don't let them trick you into thinking this is a good thing. Write your MP, write to the PM, get all your friends involved, sign the petitions, sign the letters. We have to stop this, not let them fleece us with some garbage about making things safer and lying to us about letting us continue to use them.

No offense, but the Libs have a majority. We can't stop this. This WILL become law. I'm not saying don't write letters ect, that's important because it shows them there are a whole lot of pissed off voters, but it's not going to get them to scrap the legislation.

My thought exactly.

Thank-you, Captain Obvious!

At least try to influence so that the conditions are improved.

Not creating a separate prohib class, moving only to restricted etc.

Not counting on it but resistance does have value.

There is no chance these won't end up prohib. Rcmp opinion is they are a variant of a named prohib, and the Liberals believe the rcmps word is final with regards to guns.

As I say, still write letters. Still point out how misleading the use of 2013 to compare crime rates is. Still point out how this does absolutely nothing to further public safety. If they lose the next election they might look back at this and realize gun owners are not to be ####ed with. If we don't write letters and express our concerns then there is no chance they'll change their tune in the future.

So there is yet another wrinkle in this. At my range I brought this up and they don’t allow prohibs there. So I might not even be able to shoot them at the very range I’ve shot them before at. However easy and convenient the Liberals try and claim it will be... you know it won’t be. From no ATT authorizations to ranges that don’t/can’t allow prohibs.

No I’m not selling mine. But this situation really does piss me off. There is no legitimate reason to cancel the OIC allowing the cz and PE90 to remain non restricted. This is a clear F you to firearm owners and the Conservatives from the Liberals. Evidence based, blah blah BS.. it’s plain out emotionally driven and vindictive.

You can thank JR for the Swiss Arms going prohib.....if it wasnt for him these would of never been under the radar and it would be business as usual
