Switching barrels on a Swiss Arms?

I want to swap the barrels between a Swiss Carbine and a Black Special. Is it something that can be easily done?

no.

From what I have heard, you need a special jig to support the receiver, so you can tension the barrel to the correct tightness.

Its not like an AR15 barrel, where the headspace is already pretty much set, and all you do is plop a new barrel in and tighten it down. You need to set headspace as well.

I wont even get into the legalities, but IIRC the "non restricted" versions receivers are different than the Carbine and CQB versions.

Swapping the barrels out - even if you re-classify them - would not be good. They very well could list the non restricted versions as restricted because the barrels are interchangeable......

Carbine and full-size receivers are the same. It's the CQB that is different. I would have my new Black Special carbine reclassified as restricted. And my newly created Classic Green reclassified as non-restricted. Why bother? Cuz it's fun.

Now I've heard it all buddy! :D Are you NEVER satisfied with just leaving your toys alone? ;)
