switching barrels

I have purchased another barrel for my 700 mountain rifle 30-06. The new barrel is a 280 rem. do I have to change anything besides the barrels? the 280 barrel is a takeoff from another 700mtn.
what is the procedure for changing them over? thanks

Get it to a gunsmith. The second barrel will screw on but the sights/printing will not line up... if you want that done some machining/chambering will need to be done. At the least the headspace of this second barrel will need to be checked before shooting.
