Hey all, I am in the process of joining the RCMP and at this point, look to be going for training in February :D.

My question is that with my probability of coming back to Ontario being somewhere from slim to none. If I let my IPSC Ontario membership expire at the end of this year and then move to another province after my 6 months of training, do I have to take my Black Badge again?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

For 6 months, you'll have no problems - no section will be concerned about getting you re-certify.

If you wind up taking longer, it's up to the section where you land; they can assess your time out and determine what they need you to do to satisfy their safety concerns. (Anything from spending an hour with an instructor demonstrating your skills to a retake of the BB.)

You may just want to keep your ontario membership. i am not sure about other provinces but in Alberta if you have a membership in another section it will be reconized for the rest of that year ONLY. so if you are posted to Alberta in 2008, and you had your 2008 Ontario membership it would be reconized, however in 2009 you would have to buy an IPSC Alberta membership (and if you really wanted to keep your Ontario to.) Also you may want to check out IPSC sasketchewan and maybe make one or two of theri matches while in training.

yeah just keep your membership. besides if any of the new personal coming from depot have shown me anything, your pistol skills are going to deteriorate significantly at the hands of Depot instructors.
