Yep, you got it! I've started the procedure to buy a Tanfoglio Stock, with all the fixin's.

It'll take a while to come in, so I'll nearly certainly be shooting the Glock until after the nats.

Just to be clear, my comittment to production division continues :)

what do you think is so great bout the Tangs? Seem like warmed over CZs with some extras? Do you think they are that much better?

very nice.....

i have seen a few tangs and the fit and finish is far superior to CZ. The checkering is also very nice.

Hi Bartledan

I bought myself a stock a few months ago.I really like this gun,and Im sure that you will love yours.Ive had 3 CZ's over the years(still have a pre B CZ75),and although I like the CZ75,the stock is definitely a cut above in terms of fit and fnish. It will also out shoot my Cz quite easily. If youre into IPSC production, you will like the bull barrel(much less recoil) and the great sights, and Ive had absolutely no reliability issues at all.Having said that, however, the CZ is half the price and still a great gun for the money, cant go wrong either way,but its sure nice to treat yourself!

Lately CZ has an issue with friday guns. You know, just hacked together so everyone can leave early that day. Also, people at the CZ factory seem to need a day or two to really get up to speed early in the week, too. Troll the CZ forum or the IPSC global village, and it's stuffed with anecdotes about unrelaible CZs, SP-01 included.

Also, there is the poor bugger whose trigger spring broke 3 times at RussellMania, and the rash of that malfunction....

There is no legacy of such unreliability from Tanfoglio. Sure, I may find out differently later, but it's not like I'm selling the block, or something!

Everyone is different and likes different things; I've shot the L in three matches now, and today I had a chance to handle (but not shoot) the Stock; personally, I prefer the L... I'm still getting used to it, but I think I had another Grenville-like field course today at Waterloo, will have to wait for the results to see how I line up against other shooters (the only thing people told me was I beat Wade by over a second, but for all I know, he might have had a bad run, right? I found it funny, actually, since when I do get compared to the likes of Wade anyway ? He's good... ).
There are some minor details I'm still working out, but based on what I saw just looking at it, I won't be spending addition $700 to get the Stock over the L. I'll get another L and then I'll be set ;)

As usual, YMMV; I'm sure you'll love your Stock, over your increasing inaccurate Glock...

Yeah my first gun was CZ85..very nice piece..but I thought the trigger travel was really long.. for me at least.

Well I bought the "L" and have found after 1400 rounds it to be an excellent gun for production. D/A trigger pull has come down significantly since new. Trigger break is clean. Fit and finish is excellent. Contacted Tanfoglio and have learned they in do indeed make a lighter hammer spring for the gun and I have ordered same from Freedom Arms. The latter incidently are excelent to deal with.

I have a pre-b CZ 85 which is a very nice gun as well but with the older adjustable sights the gun is primary a defensive pistol. Very reliable.

I am sure the Stock offers some advantages over the "L". For me at my skill level it just wasn't worth the extra money to pursue. The polygonal rifling was a concern to me as I shoot mostly lead boolits.

CZ's are great guns - so too the Tanfoglio.

Take Care

Bob
