Switzers Auction Feb 10, 2022

Yes, you did very well on those lots of stocks. Even with commission, delivery and tax, your costs are very reasonable.

The Lee-Enfield carbine that went for North of 4k was interesting.

There was a military unit marked one with clearing rod that went for $2400 or so. It had been lightly sanded with markings present although it was missing the front sight blade and top wood may have had a lateral crack.

The one that went for 4k was cadet and DP marked. It lacked clearing rod and had a crack on the top of the butt. Interestingly it did have what appeared to be an original sight cover and C broad arrow stamps on the receiver ring and barrel. It did not however have the M&D marking but strangely did have a DC in diamond mark.

I fell victim to the high prices in this auction. I ended up pulling the trigger on that type 99 long rifle. All said and done it will be 2k. That's the most I have ever paid for a milsurp. Personally I feel I paid way to much especially since it wasn't in the best condition, but hey that's what things cost now I guess. Its serial number is in the 700s so it is a very early made one. It's also a Nagoya, one of 8000 out of the 38000 made. Switzers had miss labeled it as a regular type 99. I'm sure had they mentioned the rarity of this model and maker I probably wouldn't have won it. Dam this hobby. Lol

Many on here remember the old Century arms catalogues. Those days are long gone but time will tell if this is the new norm? Unless new supply comes from someplace (unlikely) prices never seem to go down. I wasnt aware in the distant past about all the Russian capture Mausers. Maybe there is more out there? Its kinda funny really, when I was young I could afford the cheap milsurps to buy and hunt with, now I know some dealers can bring in the new "budget" rifles for cheaper than most milsurps. I know guys that bemoan those cheaper rifles they feel that it keeps the better stuff's prices lower to try and compete price wise a little.

I am out of Manitoba and they did the same 12% to me. I am sure it will be rectified before the actual invoice is sent...if not it will be rectified after.

They also charged me 5% sk pst....

Hopefully they fix this problem.

Call them Monday, I sure they will fix it, I checked my Dec 21 invoice and they only charged me 5%
