I just got an incredible deal on a tikka t3,the only problem is the front swivel stud is loose.I tried to mount my bipod but it just pulls the stud out.The stock is synthetic.Any ideas on what I can use to hold it in place?I don`t really want to drill another hole but if that is my only option then I guess I will have too.

What you may have to do is drill through the stock (with the barrelled action out of course) and replace the screw stud with a machine style stud with nut.

My Tikka T3 used a tread swivel stud that screws into a brass insert in the synthetic stock.

If you can not get a replacement insert ( I am sure it is metric), then why not pick up a Butler Creek Swivel and Nut. Then glue the nut in place of the bass insert using JB Weld or something similar.

Thanks for all the advice.I got a gunsmith to do it....didn`t charge me!Guess I will buy him lunch one day.Now I can`t wait to give it a try.
