Sword hunting legality and opinion?

It is common in southern states to run down wild pigs with dogs, trained for this. The dogs grap the pig by both ends
and hold it completey still. The hunter walks up & stick it through the chest with a long knife, which could be the sword
pictured & kills it almost emediately. I have seened this many times on the net. Goggle "Pig Sticking". ,,,,,,,,,, enjoy.

There’s another way of doing it. Here in the land down under the dogs chase them down and grab them by the ear. The hunter comes in behind the pig and grab both rear legs. Roll him onto his side, kneel on his chest from the back side so he can’t hit you with his tusks, slice the throat and stab into the heart. Keep your weight on him until he expires. It’s done at night and the dogs either scent or see the pigs before they bail off the back of the ute. Doing it with a spear or sword would be cheating and remove most of the excitement. In days past they were sold for meat by the kg, now we just do it to keep the numbers down.
It’s the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

I used to believe I needed the heaviest longest bowie I could afford. However it's not really the overall length or blade length that scares me off now.
Many ultra long bowie knives are well over a pound in weight and mostly closer to two pounds not counting the long sheath.
These days I prefer my longest bowie to be as close to one pound as possible. Even then after a long day in the field is pushing the envelope of my personal comfort.
Often works out to for sure less than ten inches of blade dependant on spine thickness & taper.
For sure the best practical blade lengths are 5-7.5 inches of blade.

If any one can take down a wild animal with a sword, they should not have to purchase a license and I will tip my hat.
Footnote: There might be 1 per cent of the people who attempt this that may be actually good at it. It's the other 99 per cent wandering through the bush with a Walmart decorative Samurai sword that gives me a little pause.

Maybe once in one hundred years the extra reach of a sword blade could give one a reach advantage over predator such as a bear in a bad mood.
However that means you have 99 years it sits idle on your hip.

I do agree with those words though.
Then again there is the running of the Bulls in Pampalona Spain (Feast of San Fermín).
Or maybe we may see these types of results , but with a Sword
