Anyone know where to buy a bolt buffer for a Winchester SX-1 in Canada? Wrights' won't ship to Canada and the SX-1 kit at Brownell's is over $100 which complicates shipping. I recently bought a SX-1 and the "internet wisdom" seems to be to replace the buffer before shooting it as they dry out with age.
Thanks for any info.

Take out the trigger group which will let you push back the spring in the recoil tube and you can take the bolt and carrier out. This will allow you to look at the recoil buffer. If it's the original bolt buffer you'll likely see bits of plastic as remnants which you can clean out of the hole that the buffer sits in.

Good advice not to shoot it untill buffer is replaced as can beat up the receiver and damage the bolt carrier.

Western Gun Partrs had the buffers when I checked last year but at what I thought was a rather unreasonable price in the $30.00 range apiece.

Easy to install by just sitting the buffer in place and use a wooden dowel through the receiver to tap it in place.

Wright's shipped to me year before last, what has changed with them not to ship to Canada anymore ????
The "internet wisdom" is correct, bought a NIB SX-1 2 years ago and the buffer crumbled with inspecting.

30 at western gun parts is not bad. You are going to pay 15.00 for it in the US and a min of 20 for shipping and handling unless you add it with other items. I get mine from numrich normally

Just checked the old email. Make that $35.00 from Western Gun Parts plus tax and shipping. Still see that price as gouging when Nu-Line across the border can sell them for $10.00.

But will they ship here I don't think?? They are up to 14.75 now there also.
All reloading and gun parts are the same when you compare canada to the USA. My brother in Ohio pays 19 and change for the same pound of powder they want 37 for here plus 15% tax. Oh well
