Hello,
Has anyone tried to reverse the action of their safety on a Winchester SXP?

Right now safety off is engaged by pressing on the right side. A left hander has to move their trigger hand t do this.
Im left handed and would love to reverse that so i can easily extend my left forefinger and keep aim and hand positioning.

Thoughts?

From what I've read the older model sxp isn't reversible but it seems like the newer ones are. I'm assuming this would be the ones with the angled trigger guard.
Lots of info on the net about it. If you have the newer version just try it.

I want to come back to this post to provide an update and correction to my reply.

The new SXP's are constructed differently than the first video I linked.
This is a video to disassembly of the newer versions where the trigger safety construction is very different.

I took apart the entire gun and complete trigger mechanism.

The safety is easily reversible and no moving of springs is required.
Once you strip down the trigger mechanism to be able to remove the hammer, you simply slide out the safety pin, turn it around, and reinsert to your desired position. Making sure to slot the hammer spring back into its side channels before you reverse the safety is obviously crucial.

I have tested this and it works perfectly. I now have a 'left handed' SXP hybrid hunter.
