SXS 45/70's

Anybody have one of those new 45.70's , or an older Baikal SxS?
If so, how does it shoot?
I've always been facinated by them......

I was in the shop a couple weeks ago buying ammo and I asked about the Baikal 45/70's, not out yet. Good thing I didn't slap down my money 16 months ago when I was told they were coming out soon.

They are out there. The price I was quoted to order one was $799 but once they arrived, they changed it to $1399 IIRC. Way too much moola for a low grade Baikal. Has anyone checked out the Remington (Baikal) Spartan line?

I had some discussion about the Spartan line last year, and it was not very
hopeful.
Seems there is something to do with Remington and importing problems.

I know the 30'06 Baikal's have been around since last Christmas, but I'm pretty sure the 45/70's never came out.

Epps is selling the 30/06 over/under version for $739 and the SxS in the same calibre for $1199. But no 45/70s.
