sxs and o/u project

i am looking for an old rusty sxs shotgun.
i was taking a look on trade-ex, they have all kind of old cheap stuff, and i dont know what is good and what is not for a short sxs project.

its just for self defence, the primary fonction is to survive 2 shot of ssg against a bear or something like that. . . .just in case.

and i will certainly use it for hunting a little bit, maybe it could shot 200 rounds of target load/year.


any idea what to look for ? ?
dont want to pay a lot, unless its a wicked deal and i cant miss it.
i've seen some belgians for 100$. . . . . .

and. . . . . .should a start another post. . . .same project, with a o/u. hunting shotgun/trap. 500 rounds/year, old and rusty again, i really have that much time to spend on something

what should i look for ?
is there a website somewhere i could get some references and lot of info ? ?

Tradeex is your best bet. Plenty to choose from, well described and cheap. I got a $150 SxS just for this purpose, a cheap one to saw off but turns out it looked like its only been fired once a year... Still had factory grease on it lol. Locks up really tight and is in excellent condition so I left it lol.

Check with Anthony on some of the older ones as they may be 2 1/2 or
2 5/8" chambers.
His stuff is usally better than what you expect.
Another option is one of the grizzly sxs , forget the model
Also 260.oo + will get you new pump action with a 12" barrel
You can't cut a barrel to less than 18 inch your self, 18 1/2" for a semi.
