SxS barrel regulation, non-Outlaws please

I was kind of nervous about starting this thread but I figure that since there isn't a poll attached to it, it should be less contensious.

Can any SxS shooters show us or tell us about how well regulated their barrels are?

It would be interesting to see if any specific brand is better regulated than the others.

I had a Bufalo SxS I bought from tradex a couple of years ago, it was choked full/modified. The full choke left barrel would throw the shot high and to the left. It was managable only about 7 inches or so at 20yds so you could still hunt with it. The right modified barrel was right on.

I ended up giving it to my girlfriends son, as for a 15 year old a 12 gauge is the best thing in the world even if one side's a bit wonky.

This is basis general experiment only, no tweaking or fine tuning was done to seek further validation....

I found negligible difference among the sxs that I've shot here in Canada.....all shot to POA with reasonably even patterns at 30yds (my shooting distance, normally) into a 30inch circle.

Ammo brands used were mostly Kent and Kent Gamebore 12, 16 and 20. Winchesters and Challengers 28ga. All bird shot, shotshells #6, 7 1/2 and 8......those are almost exclusively what I use for hunting.

The following shotguns were used....choked IC/M, basically default for my guns whether fixed or screw-in.

CZ Bobwhites -12, 16, 20 and 28ga
Beretta 626E and 626 Onyx - 12ga
SKB 200E and 280E - 12ga
Liegeoise D'Armes (Belgian) - 12ga
AYA #3 and #4 - 12ga
Baikal IZH-43E - 12, 20ga
SPR220 - 12ga
LC Smith (Marlin) - 20ga
Ugartechea - 12ga (the only one choked F/M)

As an afterthought, I have a SPR220 hammerless coachgun with 20in bbls and Cyl bores.....plan to test that with Challenger and Brenneke slugs. Will provide feedback as soon as I'm able to.

The Bufalo was made in Spain in the late 60s. It is one of many cheaper Spanish sxs from that era.

It is a great handling gun with it's straight English grip and Hammerless 26" barrels. If it was properly regulated and choked IC/M then it would be my favorite shotgun. Unfortunately it was neither. It also developed a issue where the tang safety would engage itself after the first shot.
I did try slugs in the modified barrel and they did not shoot to an acceptable poi. I'll just stick with my rifle-sighted mossberg.

I love Sxs and am looking to get a good one for the next bird season. (The Outlaw is great too, I LOVE doubles)
