Sxs Barrel Work Needed.

One of my A grade A.H. Fox doubles has a couple small dents in one barrel. Can anyone recommend a competent smith who works on classic doubles. A reasonable price and turn around time would be a bonus.

Nickolas Makinson in Kamoka Ontario is probably the best in Canada or maybe even North America.

"Reasonable price" and "classic doubles" are mutually exclusive terms. ;)

I'd put Les Paul in Oshawa in the same category as Makinson. Paul fixed a barrel dent on my sxs and I was happy with the work but he often has a large backlog of work.

You might also try Steve Milton at Precision Arms in King, Ontario.

Nick M. has cut down on a lot of his work to the States (to much import hassel). So his turn around time is good.
 
I would add the Custom Shop to this list.Loacted in Peterborough Ont.
Just raised a dent in my SxS and was very happy with the work, the price and the turn around time. ph: 742-6693
 
Nick was barrel borrer by trade in England and has done some work for me which I was very happy with and would reccomend him highly.
P.S. I have noticed that paying cash has expedited the jobs as you would expect.
