Hi everyone, I recently picked up a fox model B sxs for cheap. However after shooting some 00 buckshot the buttstock seems to have lowered and cracked down the middle of it. I would like to fix it by taking it off and am unsure of how to remove the screw holding it in place as it is too far for a conventional screwdriver to reach. Would the best bet just be to send it to a gunsmith or is there a long screwdriver just for this?

Also the forend of the shotgun is held in by a screw. However this screw just keeps spinning in circles without coming out. Any suggestions on how to remove that as well would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Be very careful that the screw driver is in the slot before you turn it. It is not too hard to try to turn the screw driver when it is between the screw head and the wood. Saw a guy come into a gunsmith shop looking for a replacement stock. I saw the splinter hole in the side of the stock and asked him if he had tried to take it off with the screw driver not engaged. Yup. Your stock bolt is probably loose and that is why it broke from shooting.
